Looks like a Housing section has been set up in the forum (http://www.protestrnc2008.org/forum), I just posted an offer to host there.

"Safe house" or hosting

My son, who is part of the Port Olympia Militarization Resistance movement, has said many of his friends are coming to St. Paul to protest at the convention and are looking for "safe houses" or places to go for shelter or even recovery from possible police violence. Those of us who live near the convention center should consider offering our apartments or lofts as such, even if we don't have to room to house many people. Water, meals or snacks, place to use the bathroom and get out of the rain, heat, whatever the weather, would be appreciated. Thanks!

YES!!!

Thank you for suggesting this! I would love for you to create a housing/hosting bank of some kind. I am from MN and would love to host people coming to protest (and I know a lot of other people who would do the same!). Another thing is that I would also like to see a place where people can link up with rides to MN (this will be a very important tool as the convention grows nearer). By finding groups that are committed on coming and linking them up with people who want to come, we can definitely have a great turnout.

Thanks and I look forward to seeing these additions!

Hosting/Housing those from across the country

Does anyone think it would be a good idea to create a forum or section of this site dedicated to posting contact information of those willing to host people from across the country, so that those wanting to come could get in touch with people willing to host? I would be willing to put in time and some $ to promote and spread this idea. Any feedback would be welcome, email me at nolanpeterson@gmail.com
